“Yo quiero vivir tranquilo” dice un ciudadano en un reciente documental peruano, “el que tiene un poco de dinero vive INtranquilo tratando de manejar su riqueza, la tierra nos da suficiente, todo lo que necesitamos y yo sólo quiero vivir tranquilo” son las palabras filosóficas de quien tal vez nunca fue a ninguna escuela, pero ha heredado la sabiduría de nuestros ancestros…. “Esos son los genes que hay que salvar” es la frase de un joven francés que “promueve” la sabiduría del campesino, dedicado a la única profesión que nos da de comer y que inspiró construcciones de presición matemática como Machupicchu……

Estas son las vivencias que evoco hoy un 28 de Julio, más significativas que nunca pues los peruanos ya no estamos bajo el yugo de España, ahora vivimos bajo el yugo de los modelos económicos neoliberales basados en violaciones a los derechos humanos (según la misma ONU)….hoy para demostrar que eres moderno(a) puedes sintonizar un canal en cualquier lugar del mundo y para poder pagarlo tienes que dejarte explotar, a veces en tierras donde ni siquiera nos quieren, o explotar al hermano para obtener artículos más baratos que “adornen” tu hogar y destruyan a la Madre Tierra, o comida “barata” para que llene tu estómago hoy y los bolsillos de las farmacéuticas mañana……

Los “líderes” de hoy mencionan que los “peruanos en el extranjero valemos” por el monto de “remesas que enviamos al Perú”, ya nadie se acuerda que es más significativo “enseñar a pescar”, pues ya nadie sabe pescar y mucho menos con la dextresa con que lo hace aquel que se monta en un caballito de totora. La moneda es el símbolo brillante que continua haciendo bailar al mono…..y el Perú tiene hoy una mejor economía que hasta EEUU por la simple razón de que empresas “extractivas” multinacionales son las que operan nuestros monumentales negocios y esto gracias a los tratados de libre comercio y al colonialismo al que se le cambió el nombre por globalización….

Viva el Perú vestido de gala y de blanco y rojo, todos somos hoy orgullosos de nuestro país en el que no queremos vivir….. Todos flameamos nuestra bandera sin conocer sus símbolos pues hoy son símbolos de la economía de otros países. Todos brindaremos con el sofisticado pisco sour despreciando un kaniwako o una deliciosa chicha de maní, se acuerda alguien como se hace esta nutritiva bebida?, o quizá comeremos el europeo espárrago que ahora crece por doquier en Perú con “límites de plaguicidas” para poder exportarse a los países ricos…. o ignoraremos a las modestas pero exquisitas vainitas oriundas del Perú que si pueden crecer en cualquier suelo de América….

Hoy es un día para celebrar y embriagarnos para olvidar nuestros verdaderos valores, la honestidad, la solidaridad, el cooperativismo, el respeto a la Madre Tierra, la cosmovisión de una propia filosofía ancestral que hoy simplemente va pasando de moda…..

«I just want to live peacefully,» says one citizen in a recent Peruvian documentary «he who has a bit of money live an preocupied life trying to manage their wealth, Mother Earth gives us all we need and I just want to live in peace» these are the philosophical words of someone who probably never went to any school, but has inherited the wisdom of our ancestors …. «These are genes that must be saved» is the phrase of a young Frenchman who «promotes» the wisdom of the farmer,  the only professional that feeds us and inspired constructions of mathematical precision such as Machupicchu … …
These are the experiences that I recall today July 28, more significant than ever as  Peruvians are no longer under the rule of Spain, now we live under the rule of neoliberal economic models based on human rights violations (UN statement ) …. today to show that we live in a modern world we can tune into any channel anywhere in the world and to be able to pay for the service we must allow our own exploitation sometimes in a foreign land that does not welcome us, or we must exploit our brothers to get cheaper items that «decorate» our homes and destroy our planet, or we might fill our stomachs with cheap food today, to fill the pockets of  pharmaceuticals tomorrow … …
The «leaders» of today mentioned that «Peruvians abroad are worthy» due to the amount of «remittances sent to Peru,» no one remembers the significance of “Teaching how to catch fish» because no one knows how to, specially with the dexterity of those who still go fishing on a “totora horse” (an ancient handmade boat).   Currency is the shining symbol that keeps “the dancing monkey” … .. and Peru now has a better economy than the U.S. for the simple reason that extractive multinational companies are operating our monumental business thanks to free trade agreements and the colonialism which was renamed globalization ….
Viva el Peru dress up in white and red!, today we are all proud of our country and yet we do not wan to live there … .. We all are proud of our flag without understanding its symbols, after all, now they are the economic symbols of other countries. We all will make a toast with our sophisticated Pisco Sour, scorning kaniwako or our delicious peanut “chicha”, does anyone remember  how to prepare this nutritious drink?. Or maybe we will eat the European asparagus that grows everywhere in Peru with «limited amount of pesticides” exported to rich countries …. or ignore the humble but delicious green beans, native of Peru that are able to grow in any American soil……
Today is a day to celebrate and get drunk to forget our true values, honesty, solidarity, cooperativism, our respect for Mother Earth, the Andean cosmo vision of our ancient philosophy that today is simply going out of fashion …… .
